This weekend, the online gaming convention, A Weekend With Good Friends is on, and this morning I was on a panel titled, The Art of Being a Great Horror RPG Player: Tips and Tricks for Roleplaying Effectively. You can watch it on YouTube (see below).
A good reminder for RPGs of any genre! I’ve read about the X-card, but never actually seen one used. Have you had a lot of experience with it? Do you find it helpful?
I've had it on the table, but I can't recall anyone actually using it in a game. But, I can think of one or two occasions in the past that people might have used it had it been present.
So, yeah, I think it's useful, like, we're using it (ie it is present on the table) even if we're not actively using it (ie touching it). I think there's maybe a hurdle for some players who think it might be a restraint, but that's not been my experience. Let me know how you get on with it, if you give it a go - and thanks for reading!
I should have also said, there's a whole host of panels through the weekend.
